Title: Warband Barbarians
Post by: JaymisHawk on 18 May 2016, 03:37:04 PM
Hopefully soon I'll be buying a Barbarian Army  :D Sadly my painting skills are a little rusty after being dormant for a few years. Can anyone suggest a simple paint scheme or any tips in reference to the Vallejo paints range available in store?

Thanks.

Mount your fighters on a painting stick, paint them black all over. When dry dry-brush them dark brown, dry-brush any flesh areas with a flesh colour. Highlight the odd head of hair blonde or ginger. Pick a strong colour like red or blue and dry-brush any shields. Paint the base to match your table.  Paint any metal parts with gunmetal. Ink the whole figure with Army Painter Acrylic Soft Tone and Matt varnish when dry.

I could say more but it's ninety degrees here and I'm cooked.

Barbarians certainly favour a nice simple scheme with bright shields.

Jims method certainly will be speedy- but could easily be adapted to use more painting rather than dry brushing if that is what you favour

Cheers chaps :) I'm useless in coming up with these sorts of ideas, usually I use painting guides.
