Cracking painting (again!)

I look at the figures and think they look really sharp and great, then I remember how tiny the figures are, and how little space there is to paint each bit, let alone put different shades on each bit.

I was wondering if you have to plan ahead, and decide which colours aren't needed, then you can use them to stick figures to?

Thank's chaps,

Really enjoying these, started some infantry so will put pics up shortly.

Quite a few Matt  ;D,  yes Fred, that's just  how i work, i normally do a batch of 30 infantry at a time. A bit of a production line once i have chosen the colours.

Excellent. Again.

I could start to agree with Phil ;-)

And only a week since the last lot.

Have the lot at the back got a pink flag?

The quality is depressing enough, but the speed at which you turn these out is even more infuriating  >:( ;D

Blimey, they are lovely.

About how long does it take you to a single figure, with your over all process? (if you don't mind me asking!).

Really nice scuplts, and really nice paint!

Looking at the above figures I wonder why bother using AWI proxies for SYW when there is a huge range of the real thing beautifully produced.
Title: Re: SYW Prussians
Post by: Werthor on 04 July 2016, 08:54:48 AM
Well i choosed to have AWI infantry instead of SYW mainly for two reasons: i have  a british and an american army for AWI so i thought i could use the prussians as german mercenaries for AWI without concerns about their dimension compatibility (as you know AWI range is sligthly bigger than SYW). Then for sure SYW sculpts are good but AWI are even better and i found them easier to paint since their details are more outstanding.

My two cents  :)

Kev's going to be doing all of the SYW ranges for the website soon, so that should keep him busy for a while!

"Have the lot at the back got a pink flag?"   -  Not many can resist painting up IR No. 40 Kreytzen Fusiliers.

Lovely work.

I thought that the infantry "March Attack" figures looked a bit odd when I saw them as bare castings on the website, now seeing them painted the pose looks perfectly sensible.

>>Not many can resist painting up IR No. 40 Kreytzen Fusiliers.

Guilty m'lord.   Just had to add these to my Prussian army.

Unfortunately a great look does not equal battlefield performance.
In our game last night, only one Regiment scarpered.   Sigh.
