Iron Cross is a fast play set of miniatures rules that has an interesting activation system that gamers may want to use with other sets of rules, including tactical boardgames.
I have done a blog post that looks at the anti-tank system and included a look at the activation mechanics.

Thanks for this Norm :). I don't think they are for me (BKCII ticks all the boxes) but interesting to read nonetheless.
An interesting activation system :-\
I've played a couple of times and think they actually work better in 10mm than in the 25/28 as presented in the rules.
I did wonder whether the command tokens and morale markers would look too obtrusive in the smaller scales.
I use my own markers as the ones sold by Great Escape Games seem to be too large for 10mm.
it's a fun game and very accessible.
yes the chit markers are a bit of a pain but manageable.
doubt they'll ever replace my preferred rules but they are good for quick club based multi-player games.
BTW - someone really ought to change the thread title, Cross of iron they aren't
Oops!
Errata .... They are Iron Cross :-)
Although I did love Cross of Iron (expanded Squad Leader - the game that fired up my passion for WWII tactical).
