Speaking as one with friends in Krawow and in Warsaw, I'd prefer to see Pole given a respectful capital letter.

Or, of course, Dave could just eat a lot of those Chinese Gooseberries, and so retain his name, and its relevance.

Or, he could farm flightless birds of the genus Apteryx.

Or, he could start a campaign to "Kindly Insult Westmarcher Immediately".

Some of my best friends have bits of wood on top of their necks! And several women have asked me "Is that a bit of steel pipe?" at one time or another.

Birdy McBirdface has been suggested as the name for a new Albatross at the colony near Dunedin, apparently the chick is too Royal for that name ;D

I will admit that was a genuine error, that thankfully I did spot (surprisingly, given my history of putting my foot in it!).

I hope they don't christen seabirds the same way that they do boats ... by walloping them with a bottle of champagne. I think the SPCA would have something to say about that.
