Good afternoon chaps,
As the posts title sugests i was on the wrong end of a heavy defeat taking command of the British relief column in our latest Blackpowder 1885 sudan game. I have the usual AAR over on my blog (using the new desert battle mat for the first time) if you want to check out the action or massacre depending on how you look at it on the following link

...as the bishop said to the actress.
Looks like a great game.....can sympathize with the bad dice rolling ;)
Got to say the desert cloth, terrain and troops look superb.
Looks like we might be playing a few games like this later in the year..... :-\
Great looking game, and I really like the style of basing you have gone for.
Cracking look game
Take care
Andy
Great looking game. Where did you get your mat?

The mat was purchased from a company called the Cigar box. The mats are excellent, well worth the money

...after she lost a fifteen rounder on points.
Enjoyed reading the battle report - the table top has an excellent look and feel. Well done!
And another documented account of NPD syndrome - the evidence continues to mount - perhaps the day will come when our understanding will be sufficient to rid the world of this scourge.

Look forward to that then 8)
Keep calm, fix bayonets and hope the maxim gun doesn't jam?
Great report & photo's.
Cheers - Phil
Looks really nice.
Really nice painting and basing style, almost impossible to tell at first glance what scale the miniatures are - probably means you take the shots from the right distance :)
I have Deep Cut Studio mats which are also excellent - is the Cigar Box one cloth or vinyl, it seems to drape well. I have vinyl from DCS which is great because pushing units about is really easy, no catching and stumbling, breaking ranks no siree! But it don't drape, at all. So in two minds about a cloth, DCS do cloth ones but cloth has texture, :-\ - what's the surface texture like on the CB mat?
Cigar Box one mark if your friendly club numpty puts their drink on them...

The cigar box one is cloth and it drapes really well. All we did for the hills was to put some old clothes scumpled up underneath and it worked great,no troops sliding down the hills lol
