Title: Early WW1 Austro-Hungarian colours
Post by: JeffNNN on 08 April 2016, 07:05:36 PM
I succumbed at Triples and bought the AH Army pack. I've bought the osprey and have various other references, but can anyone suggest an ideal acrylic for the basic uniform colour. Also best colour for Austrian guns.

Now wishing I'd got a time machine and could focus more on 14/18 in my visit to Vienna or in particular my unexpected visit some years ago to Italian Ww1 museum in Rovereto. I went on a wine tasting trip from Lake Garda and we stopped there, apparently so people could shop but the brief guided tour went past the museum, but I didn't. Nearly missed the coach and the wine but it was good, well worth a longer visit. Highly recommended (as was the wine).

From a quick google, I'd try Vallejo  French Mirage Blue for the unfiforms.

For artillery it's much less helpful, mainly returning lots of black and white photos.

Sounds weird, but I used an acrylic sold as Periwinkle by Anita's Acrylics.
