Very sad indeed to relate the news of Hugh Wilson's death last night from what we believe to be a massive coronary. 'Trader' Hugh was a regular at the club and anyone who attended any of the Scottish wargame shows, particularly Carronade or Claymore, would recognise him from the bring and buy, he was the the wee guy wearing a loud shirt and a big smile. A genuinely nice chap his 'at home' games were legendary both for the effort he put into them and for the hospitality extended by himself and his lovely wife Suzannah, he'll be sorely missed.
Ah, sad news indeed. A large personality in a small package! My thoughts are with his wife and wider family.
Condolences all.
Am absolutely shocked by hearing this news.
I went to see Hugh just last Wednesday to get an update on his knee surgery.
We were making plans for our trade table at Carronade. Most of you will know that Hugh was my main partner in running a charity stand at many shows on behalf of Iain Holt who we sadly lost just over a couple of years ago. He was very upbeat about forthcoming shows and planning our joint set of products based on current demand.
I wasn't one of Hughs regular gaming crowd despite many invites to attend and I know that these guys will miss Hugh terribly, I certainly will.
My condolences to Suzanne and the Wilson family.
Sorry Jim, I got a text from fat Angus this morning, could have knocked me down with a feather.
Very sorry to hear that, chaps. :(
Don't think I ever met him, but he was obviously a very well liked individual, in the hobby.
Condolences to all.
Cheers - Phil
Although I didn't know Hugh, its always sad to read of a fellow wargamer's passing particularly when you see how its affected our fellow forum members who did. My condolences also.
Condolences to all involved :(
