Title: The Pagoda of the Buried Scholars
Post by: FierceKitty on 27 March 2016, 06:03:39 AM
Made up from a really tacky chromium-plated nick-nack. Now, if Newlines will be so good as to produce those Spring and Fall-era ancient Chinese ranges which they promissed by last December....

WHAT is wrong with this dam' programme? It constantly lays some images 90 degree off true!

It might be pointing in the wrong direction, but it's very nice - good find and paint. 8)

Very nice, even if I have to tilt me head 90 degrees!

Maybe.......Whatever photo package you're using uses 'landscape' as the default setting....I'm assuming you took the shot of the pagoda in 'portrait mode' ?
Could there be a command in the photo programme to allow you to change from landscape to portrait ?

Cheers - Mr Guessing-Wildly (And making it up, as he goes along.)

I think you'll find that's the ray-gun off an Oriental Dalek.

I've seen this photo problem on another forum.
Somebody over there mentioned it may be due to the photo being taken using an Iphone.
I've no idea why that would cause the issue, however.
But it might be interesting to know if FK did use an Iphone, and there's a link between the two occurrences.

Well, my wife took the picture, and yes, it was an iPhone.

My IPhone does this - randomly it seems - on rare occasions. You may know this but there is an edit feature on the iPhone that lets you crop and rotate.

It DOES look like a Dalek ray gun - awesome!

The problem with pagoda models is that from the helicopter viewpoint of a gamer, their painted walls are hidden by the multiple roofs.

Very nicely done. I just tilted my macbook on its side for a perfect view.

Very nice pagoda FK. My brother in law sends us emails with photos on from his iphone and they are rarely the right way up. No idea why though?

Tilt 'n' Swivel monitor stand fixed the problem for me.

Is that a pagoda or are you just pleased to see me? ;)

Very nicely done FK.

There is a leaning pagoda on Tiger Hill, in Suzhou. But it's less spectacular than the towers in Pisa and in Dehli (the Qutub Minar).

That nick-nack was properly saved. It looks really good now. I hope your Chinese forces arrive shortly.

Well, I can use it with my Ming army to go on with. But I bought it for the Spring and Fall armies, since I already have another one for the Ming, with a distinctively Ming banner down the side.
With the new pagoda, I just have to be worried about having a guest who can read Chinese at a game; the writing on the side is NOT from the Chinese classics.
