Title: Late war Brits
Post by: Sunray on 26 March 2016, 02:05:28 PM
A post D Day set that compliments what was achieved with the early war BEF.  Brits in late war kit, leather jerkin etc  and turtle shell helmet that could be used up the  1960s

Strangely, Dave's got a mini-obsession with 1950's Brits and wants to do a decent range of them.  I'm not so sure, as this might be the first request we've ever had for them!

Exactly.   And now all the immediate late/post war AFVs are starting to arrive (or roll off Mart's table) it would be good to have the infantry to go with them.

In the 1950s the Bazooka replaced the PIAT other than that, the kit stayed largely the same.  44 web was used in the Far East, but images of Suez/Korea and early BAOR  shows 37 pattern still in widespread use.  A few beret types would be very very useful.    The recent additions to the Commandos are neat sculpts and paint up very nicely.

I will also vote for this. I have been wanting to do '44 British for a while nowm anf it is always the lack of suitable infantry that stops me.
:)
Cheers,
Rob

Dave's gut feeling is on the money.  Get a range of late/post war Brits and watch the sales of existing codes like the Comet and late war German's soar.
