Hi Everyone
WW1 Narrow Gauge British trench railway with standard War department wagon with a handcart and Simplex 20/28 petrol tractor
Brilliant! We have those on our local narrow gauge in Leighton Buzzard! You should have come over for a trip on one! ;D ;D
Pretty cool modeling! How far behind the front were these used?
Like those, Mart ! 8)
Cheers - Phil
d_guy I think they where used right up to the front in places probably forward gun positions
They had heavily Armoured roofs as they were used to haul supplies right up to the front, being petrol engine they were easy to run,but if hit caught fire rather nastily! The (mostly Chinese) track repair crews suffered horrendous casualties, but they could lay miles a day as the track came in prefabricated sections, eight men teams picked it up and dropped it in place!.
There's one in action this century about 9:00 into this little video

Very interesting stuff!
When I looked at the vid Mr. Lemmy put up found several others relating to WWI trench railroads
Here is Mart's Simplex engine

But will there be a Fat Controller model?
ask Techno that's his department :D :D
I can see the future. With cute sculpts like these, 90% of the forum will stop rolling dice and built twee little railway dioramas with aircraft and figures ....the Carlos Briz appreciation society......
We will never, ever, be as good as Carlos, he is a painting God!
All HAIL THE GREAT CARLOS :)

His soldiers look beautiful - but when the dice rolls, do their bases allow them to fight?

I made one out of green stuff when my young one was in his thomas the train phase. Lost some of it's paint job but still strong after years of abuse! And his feet have glue marks all over them because he kept snapping him of the base :D

Well done, that Dad =D>
When our son was in his Thomas phase we were worried that he was developing a strong Scouser accent.
Something to do with all the Thomas videos he watched.

"When that fat opera singer from the 'Go Compare' advert popped up, Thomas blew a gasket and needed to be sent to the locomotive works to be fixed."
