Well I WAS a Spambot but achieved sentience late last June - so there may be more than you think.
Gentlemen I give you a short war and a bloody battle.
IanS
We've got 46 members awaiting approval from this weekend, I'll bet 44 of them are spammers...!
EDIT: I was wrong... they were all spammers. >:(
X_X
I thought there was a chance of a couple of being real.
Having said that...There are a few 'bots' that I'm beginning to recognise now......They turn up so damn regularly.......Barstewards. >:( >:( >:( >:(
Cheers - Phil
If nothing else.....We've reached 12,000 topics , now.

Good grief ! :o
Leon's found a real person amongst the spambots !
Two to go. ;)
Welcome, TSmitter :-h

Shouldn't we wait until a member posts before welcoming him/her ?
IanS
It's just so nice to see a real person amongst all the dozens of Spambots, I thought I'd celebrate.. ;)
Cheers - Phil
He's posted now ... so ... "Hurrah!" :)
One to go ! :)
Cheers - Phil.
But of the 1800, how many are
a) Active?
b) Inactive?
c) Lurkers?
d) No longer around?
I did think of doing a poll, but of course it would come up with 99% active, and 1% idiot.
Not a clue, Nobby !
Cheers - Phil (Who has only JUST noticed the latest line on your signature....Loved that ! ;D ;D ;D ;D)

Tawa, FK, Chad and dGuy in reserve on the bench!!!
Forbes, Jack and our illustrious Kiwi contingent of Paulr and Pierre are waiting for medical inspection
There is a Stats button on the home page...
Hertsblue
Leman
FierceKitty

round out the list
Nosher, Ithorial, Orcs, Sunjester, Mollinary aren't there. And other than FK non of the subs.
You need a good 4.5k posts to get into the top 10.
Bizarrely, can't access that!

Which, alas, I am not authorised to use. Presumably only the forum Illuminati get access to this secret knowledge. Cue conspiracy theories :)
Clearly I know the right way to click, or is it the secret click...
But we all know it's not just about quantity.
Westie, though not in that top ten regularly adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the forum. Like duck flavoured ice-cream.
Tawa posts with stiletto efficiency. It goes with his fish-nets.
D_guy and jimduncanuck (?) come in with some wrong-side-of-the-pond wholesomeness. One can almost scent the wide open spaces in their work. I do think D_guy once posted the word "gee" which makes my point exactly.
Bigjackmac deserves a place on the contributors for his recreation of Tom Clancy novels in 10mm, and his novel use of pipe cleaners. (Does anyone use pipe cleaners to clean pipes anymore?)
Dave posts but rarely. However, when he does, the entire forum comes to a respectful hush until it has read and digested the prognostication of the Darker Lord.
Some of us though, can achieve both quality and quantity
I feel an awards ceremony coming on.

"MacDuff: Stands Scotland where it did?" - Macbeth, Act 4, Scene 3 :)
Where?
Quote from: Ithoriel on 30 March 2016, 08:56:09 AM
Somewhere in The Americas apparently!
Just so:

More specifically not
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edinburgh,_Indiana
:)
In this country, with that size population, Edinburgh, Indiana, would be a village. Bet they pronounce it Eedin burg.
Well, stick that in your caber and toss it!
:o :o :o :o :o (That's for 'Bob')
But........Huzzah !! :)...Another real person has taken us up to 1800 members !! <:-P :-bd <:-P
Cheers - Phil
Hang on though. There have been some snide insinuations that Duckman is not a real person. If this is so, then we're back at 1799, and we need to take the Marengo Prize away from whoever's just joined and give it to the next person to join.

We just took a head count over here and Jim didn't answer when his name was called. Not absolute proof since we were short about 217 but a good bet he is not from here. Hope this helps clear things up!
Yah! 1800 (unless fsn makes a formal request for a re-count in which case I know some folks in Florida can help with that).

Jim, I think some people are under the impression that you are a Canuk rather than a Scot.

Or baseball!
Not Hockey either....
I believe my member number was/is 1800! This is probably the most helpful and resourceful forum or website re wargaming that I have encountered.
I'd look around a bit more if I were you. :P
The forum does seem to jump around between the better parts of the History Channel, Discovery, Red Hot Girls and Tots TV - with a dash of the Open University in the mix.
I think anyone with a membership number 1800-1815 should be forced to take the name of a Napoleonic Battle. From now on, you, CarlLeyland, should be known as "Marengo".

Just as well you're not into cookery too or he might wind up as Chicken Marengo! :)
Besides, 1800 - he should be Hyksos or Troy VI!
Since CE/BCE can't be resolved there is another ominous portend concerning Carl (Marengo/Hyksos):
6+6+6 x 1000! I propose "Dark Lord" or "He who shall not be named".
That name is already taken round here... ;)

Well I confess to having watched a couple of Biblical Prophesy programs on the Discovery channel - but I wouldn't call that hard proof.
What's in a name?

If you think Discovery Channel is bad you want to look at YouTube (that is not a recommendation).
