You've only got your own faulty reconnaissance to blame - if you'd looked in the BBB Yahoo group files and played the official BBB scenario for Spicheren you might have done better!

Like you I'm increasingly going back to things under my gaming mat to give a better impression of undulating terrain. What have you been using for roads? Looks like felt?
Looking really good. Just returned from holiday where I re-read again the BBB rulebook and found another couple of things I had previously missed. Played Spicheren three times now and it gives a really good game.

Felt roads as you thought Nosher. They stay in place remarkably well but do have a habit of mdf bases catching on them!
