Title: Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo goes downunder
Post by: pierre the shy on 21 February 2016, 07:50:41 AM
Got to go to the Saturday night performance of the Tattoo here in Wellington yesterday....a fantastic event.

Lots of Kiwi/Aussie/Pacific participants as well as more bagpipers than I've seen in a while  :)

also Swiss drum corps, Norwegian Army drill display team and bands from the RAF, RM and Welsh Guards.

They even have a mock up of the front of Edinburgh Castle covering 1/3 of the stadium.....I assume its a mock up as I'm sure someone would have noticed if large bits of the real castle disappeared  ;)

Considered getting a tattoo downunder once, but it was too painful.

Of course, there's nothing like the real thing.
