Matchsticks (cut them to length & split them to make planks), cocktail sticks (don't use as they come - cut and then sharpen to look more like the stakes in your photo), Milliput (and other scenic material you would use for basing), a cardboard base and some Pendraken Gabions. Worked for me.  :)

There's always the  Pendraken starfort.

PS29 would have been ideal, I think, but is out of stock at the moment. Don't know if this is going to re-appear/ be replaced any time soon.

That PS29 is very nice, pity it's out of production. :(

PS29 isn't on the schedule to be back in production anytime soon unfortunately, I think John's going to do us a new and improved version, rather than just remoulding that model.

I have used these to make some custom fortifications - http://www.commission-figurines.co.uk/page22.html (http://www.commission-figurines.co.uk/page22.html)

A star fort corner would be ideal actually. I suppose I am going to have to make it from scratch.
I need quite a few. I might just make a resin mold of the first one and cast the rest. ;)
