Pendraken Miniatures Forum members meet-up.
Other forums, and bloggers, tend to have a meet at the bigger shows they attend. It being a great way to boost the social feel of a forum/blogging community.
I just wondered if any Pendraken Forum members would be interested in doing something similar? A chance to meet in the flesh those you talk to on a regular basis. Meet new people from the forum. Chat about the show/hobby, maybe even find a new opponent. Get a group photo, and make a happy memory for yourselves.
If you're attending an upcoming show why not give a shout-out here, and see if any other forum member will be there? :)
[Not to be rude, but could we keep this topic free from silliness and chatter - it being easier for people to spot information that way. Thank you.]
I'm attending Vapnartak, at York. [Sunday 7th February]
Is there anybody else going to be there, who'd like to say hello?
A time and location to meet - obviously, it should be the Pendraken stall - can be made, and a quick hello, and a handshake, is all that need to be done if people are shy :)

I'll be at Vapnartak, weather permitting, it's a 4 hour drive from Edinburgh, morning only, leave just after lunch to minimise the amount of driving in the dark on the way home.
I will be at Vapnartak, see you there Roy.
I will be there also :-h
Will be at Vapnartak, wearing Liverpool Wargames Association polo shirt and Leman lanyard.
Cavalier, Tonbridge, Kent (29th Feb.)
What good idea this post is.
I usually get to two shows a year and this is the first. I know it's a fair distance for the north of Luton posse but has anyone else got any plans to attend?
I have the full intentions of being at both
Vapnartak - York, Sunday 7th February - and
Phalanx - Saturday 18th June.
Should anything change I will post up on here. I shall make myself visible by wearing this seasons Home shirt for Warrington Wolves.

I'm not sure I understand...... :D

In St Helens? There's brave.
Where is the York thingy? Is it easy to get to?
Hi Subedai
I'll be at Cavalier! I'll be on Realistic Modelling stand, but I can escape for a coffee and a chat about Mongol warfare!

The York show is in the Racecourse, just to the south of the city centre. There's plenty of parking I think, and it's not that far from the train station either.

This Link shows it on Google Maps. (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/Knavesmire+Stand+York+Racecourse+Knavesmire+Stand++York+Racecourse+York++YO23+1EX/@53.942899,-1.0946936,17z/data=!3m1!4b1)

Tip for anyone visiting the York show: Do Not Park On The Grass! Last year (after heavy rain) our vehicle got bogged down and the RAC had to come tow us out. Try and stick either to the areas of 'rubble' hardstanding, or the spaces on the road.

York Showjimduncanuk, Bodvoc, Skywalker, Leman, (possibly fsn). If you'd like to meet up as a group? I'd be up for it.
I'll be there from 10:30 onwards, till late.
The Pendraken stall (as a meeting up point), at either 'on the hour' or the 'half-hour'?

It'll confuse the yokels at least :D
I will be at Vapnartak with a few members from the grimsby wargaming society. But would to meet up with forum members.
Take care
Andy
Meeting up at the Pendraken stand is a good idea, but we can't hang out there - it will prevent other punters getting at the goodies.

Yep. Once we've found each other, said hello to the Pendraken team, we can then move away out of their way.
If a group photo is to be taken [doesn't have to be one done] it could be an idea for it to include the Pendraken stand and anyone of the Pendraken team wishing to be included.
Sounds like a plan. This is one of the few shows that I am appearing just as a punter so it will be nice to put faces to the names. :D :D

There will be no-one getting their hands on my goodies! :)
Not a show per se, but there will be some luminaries from this forum (plus me) at the BBB Bash Day in Oxford on 10 April:
http://www.oxfordwargamessociety.org.uk/bigbash.html
And some fine Pendraken 19th-century armies will be on display too!

If I'm at a show I'll probably be wearing a Deeside Defenders shirt...
Who by the way are NOT in Scotland, but Wales - or so the locals say, It's actually England, as neither Broughton or Saltney have unpronounceable voweless names.

Not Llybwllgych then?

That'd be quite nifty. Probably best around the lunchtime mark once everybody is fed and happy? Except me, who would be fed and sleepy...... :-[
I can secure a lift (and have a day out) to these two shows (also, I can show off my new Star Wars tops!)
Saturday, March 5th - Hammerhead, Newark
Saturday, March 12th - Albanich, Dumfries
Will there be any other forum members present?

Hammerhead is just a bit too far south for me but I should be at Albanich.
