Anyone else seen this drama series about the rise of Texas, starting in the 1830s. It's a ten-parter on the History Channel on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately I missed episodes 1 and 2 (the Alamo), but saw episode 3 about the Goliad massacre. Slightly different from the description in James Donovan's book, but an entertaining watch all the same. Not certain about the start date - I'm assuming early 1830s - nor where it will get to by episode 10. I'm expecting San Jacinto in episode 4.
I've been recording this one to do a 'batch' watch at some point in the coming weeks. It looked like a decent cast, so hopefully it's worth watching.
Might see if I can get this on catch up with Virgin. If not it's bound to be on the internet somewhere. One advantage of having teenage kids is that they can help out old f*rts like me with stuff like this :D.
The show begins right after Alamo.
You mean the Alamo wasn't even in the first two episodes?
Yes.
I'm afraid not Leon, in my opinion anyway. I've seen the first four and I thought it was pretty poor, when compared with other historical dramas that have been produced in the US, and elsewhere for that matter.
