What's surprising is that it is Airfix branded, but has no plastic models with it?

It sounds somewhat like the 'Commands & Colors' boardgames, but with minis. It also bears quite a resemblance to the 'Battlefields' wargames which use cards instead of minis & terrain printed on card. I quite like that idea as an introductory wargame.

I seem to recall they did this a while back or was that revell????

Operation Overlord? Recall buying it and never playing it. No doubt I will buy this too and never play it out of a sense of duty to the hobby!

More on topic, cards look nice, components look nice - couple of packs of infantry and a tank or two and you've got a cracking pressie going there.
