Called Eglwyswrw. (Egg-Liss-Ooo-Roo)
It's roughly five miles, as the crow flies, from Techno Towers.
They haven't had a day without rain since October 25th.
Which almost certainly means it's been the same here.
No wonder it's seemed like permanent twilight for the past few months. :'( :'(
Cheers - Mr Muddy. (I slipped over in it, a few days ago......I said some very naughty words. :D)
Just remember Phill, anything over 2000mm in a year and it's officially a rainforest!
I had two very pleasant breaks in Eglwyswrw back in the 80s when a mate of mine was working in Fishguard.
Danny Bhoy, the Scottish Comedian does a line about Noah in Scotland.
"40 days of rain? Och! We're up to 63 already. What a chancer!"
Seems the good people of Egg-roll-who-knew have the same problem.

We classify as a rain-forest
some years, then. X_X (Which doesn't count, I suppose.)
The year before we moved here, there was apparently eight feet of rain in the preceding twelve months.
I make that nearly 2,500mm.
Sheesh !
Cheers - Phil.
AT least they got on the telly - BBC Breakfast covered it.
There's a village near here too.
That village made the news here in NZ :o
Don't think they've broken the UK record for consecutive days of rain.....We actually had a dry day recently ! :o
Cheers - Phil
Not consecutive days but they are forecasting 500mm of rain for Fiordland in the south west of NZ over the next 24-48 hours
Yes that is half a meter :o
Annual rainfall down there is up to 8 meters
Phil - they missed it by 1 day :'( :'(, R4 a couple of days ago...
IanS
Thanks Ian.
I didn't think they'd quite made it, but hadn't heard officially.
I heard some (one ?) of the villagers saying that they didn't want the record.....But secretly, I think having got so close, they would have liked to break it. ;)
Cheers - Phil
I am sure they will get another chance to break the record
It is Wales after all.
There is a village near us that just got 40" (1016 mm) of snow!
Sorry about hijacking the thread - snowed in :)
Called New York, according to this morning's news.

True! Greenwich! :)
Thanks Paul, we are good - my family on the Jersey shore had the snow AND gale-force winds - many on the coast not as lucky as us.

Same from me Guy.
Cheers - Phil
Thanks Phil,
And I return the wish and say stay warm ...and dry!
Stay safe all
Anyone else see the clips on the news, of some folks in the States 'snow swimming'. :o
Cheers - Phil
According to Google Snow Swimming is an actual sport :o :o :o
:o :o :o :o
I wonder if they have problems with match fixing, performance enhancing drugs or corruption in the administration. :D
Cheers - Phil (I hear Addidas are withdrawing from sponsorship of the IAAF.)

You can bet on it ;)
Least it solved the traffic problems. Keep cool and stay warm
IanS
Well.....
We're back to normal !
Don't know how many inches of rain have fallen today. (3?....4?) X_X.....And the wind's blowing like crazy.
Odd....But I don't remember 'them' giving this one a name.....Or has it not been classified as a storm ?
Seems worse than some of those that we've had recently.
Cheers - Mr Wet-of-Wales.
Blowing a gale up here in the northwest as well.

That's a very positive way to look at it :) thanks!
Techno - I just looked at your recent rainfall statistics - outrageous! Don't rust!
As to names - one of several thing I admire about you'uns is you are not so vaporous as to name
every tropical depression and snowfall! (Although 3-4" is getting close to needing a name)

Too late = that's why Phil cant put on weight, the rust keeps flaking off.

Just a touch :o
Bloomin' 'eck !. :o :o :o.... Storm Imogen is giving us a really good slapping at the moment, here in SW Wales.
(I'm really surprised the electrics haven't been knocked out ......Yet. X_X)
Sounds like the windows are going to blow in at any moment....Too dark to see whether the sheep have been blown away at this time.
Can't wait to go outside and feed the chickens ! :^o :^o :^o :^o
Cheers - Phil
batten down the hatches.
Do you have your own generator Phil
That makes nine now since the names were introduced less than three months ago.
My eldest is called Imogen! :P
Does she have a stormy temper?
Very!
Well....Get her out of my fields then ! ;)
(No Mark....I haven't got a genny.....Looked at some few years ago....But they didn't seem to be much cop power wise, to make much difference. The ones I might have been able to afford then, wouldn't have done much ,apart from keeping the lights going.).....MAYBE the boiler....But the kettle would have tripped them.)
Cheers - Phil
So when the lights go you have to do a "Wee Willie Winkie" * with a candle in your nightshirt.
* I am referring to a children's nursery Rhyme not any part of Technos anatomy
No....A torch....And definitely not a nightshirt. :P
And we had a split second mains flick......
So I've missed a load of posts now..... >:( .....(At least the easy way to find them !)
Cheers - Phil
Very windy and squally on the cycle into work this morning. Not nice at all. The Avon has burst its banks which is more of a pain as it forces me to detour slightly. Currently raining stair rods outside as I type...
Bright, sunny and barely a breath of wind here - that's the trouble with Scotland, beautiful scenery but such awful weather ;) :)

I wouldn't say it's windy, but Techno's Hens have laid the same egg twice!
Be nice if they laid one egg between the lot of them.
Cheers - Phil
