Title: BA6 / BA10 Armoured Cars
Post by: O Dinas Powys on 08 January 2016, 12:02:27 PM
I'm starting a new topic from my reply in this thread (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,3230.msg187540.html#msg187540 ) to increase the chances of my picture request being seen!

I'm wanting this for use with the fantasy desert rats - which are HUGE compared to the historical figures - so absolute size of the model is the most important thing for me!  :-[

Cheers!

Hi Setsugen

I believe that Leon has a master secreted somewhere on the luxurious new premises just waited to be released.

Picture of the master (without T26 turret) is here:-

I'm waiting for it too  :)

That picture has got me thinking again!!  X_X

Anyway, is this now in production as SV67, BA6 A/C? http://www.pendraken.co.uk/SV67-p6649/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/SV67-p6649/)

Even if it's the answer's no, does anyone have a picture of SV67 with a figure next to it for an idea of size please?  I'm not after it for SCW/WWII use so the turret isn't important if it's a different variant of the AV6 - if such a thing exists!

Cheers!

Meirion

Edit:

Following a web search and a random stumble I discovered the existence of the SV73 BA10:

I can see it's a slightly different chassis, but how do they compare in size?

A picture of either – with figure for scale - would be great  :D

Thanks Peter  :-bd

Probably a bit small for the rats to squeeze into then  :-\

Nice tanks  8)

...although the additional fuel tanks are a bit disconcerting: at a first glance it made them look like the turrets had hair-rollers in  :o

At a second glance they look more like rocket-boosters though  ;)
Very sci-fi ;D

Cheers!

Just a thought but I think the AC pictured is a smaller BA64 not a BA10?

Yes it is a ba64, but the question was:

I do wonder how often those fuel tanks cooked off under fire.
Not often you see tank riders AND extra fuel...

I often wondered similarly - I've imagined you would use fuel from the external tanks first, to leave less fuel in them... but that just leaves them full of fumes, which is even more explosive!

The commentary was particularly helpful in the second one ;D ;D

Zenkevitch (or whatever his name is) does a whole series of tank reviews, all worth watching - but mystifying, for me at least, to listen to...

I think standard practice was that the fuel tanks where taken off when combat was expected. More of a 'march' option. (i think i read that somewhere)

Thanks Wulf, very helpful.  Definitely think they're going to be too small in 10mm so I've kind of accidentally ordered a 15mm plastic one which should be a better fit  :-[  ;)

Cheers!
