Hello from Madrid, Spain.
I have been registered in this forum for a lot of time, but I never introduced myself, so now I will solve that.
I´m a 35 years old wargamer from Madrid. Being in the military, I have lived in Madrid, Zaragoza, Toledo and Vitoria, cities with interesting napoleonic histories.
I started playing when I was 13, with Games Wokshop´s WH40k, like most young gamers. We were a small group bat soon started looking for napoleonic rules, and as we have no knowledge about the period, started Spanish, Russians and Austrians. No body collected Napoleon´s own army!!!
My first napoleonic figurines were austrian line infantry with helmets, from Old Glory. I still have tose battalions stored at home.
In 2004 I was a member in the Asociación Madrileña de Simulación (Madrid Simulation Society), my local wargames club, and we started painting 6mm ww2 miniatures, mainly from Heroic&Ros. In just one year, we jumped from 6 to 10mm, with Warmaster Ancients armies and BKC for WWII.
I collect all the less loved armies for any period:
Napoleonics - Ottomans, Bavarians end USA (1812), all in 15mm.
BKC - Italians, I love italians and have miniatures in 28mm, 15mm, 10mm, 6mm. A lot of italians, but also Norwegians and Romanians.
Warmaster Ancients - Dacians.
Spanish Civil War - for BKC, 10mm.
AWI, 10mm. I started with another producer, but I am trying to sell all the unpainted miniatures to buy more from Pendraken.
Nowadays, I´m focused in GZG,s Full Thrust and Stargrunt 15mm miniatures.
Ok, thats all, if anyone of you visit Spain, we can try a game.
Hi Naxto.
Welcome to the forum.....Although we may have already said that ! ;)
Cheers - Phil
Welcome Naxto!
I know what you mean about less popular armies. I like the Neapolitans for Napoleonics; Wurttemburgers and Westphalians. Some of those smaller countries have armies so small that it is perfectly feasible to model the whole thing on the table.
Dammit, dammit, dammit! You've just awoken that love. Now have to go and look at all those Confederation forces ... to go with some Bavarians.
Thanks. >:(

I find this a particularly noble pursuit! Good on you. Thanks for sharing your interests, Natxo.
Nice to get a bit of background info old chap :)
There is a secret advantage with the "minor nations".
You can loose any game and say that it is what you expected. ;)
Hi Natxo, welcome to the Forum!

Welcome aboard! :D
Welcome Naxto :-h
I agree with you on minor armies, my Napoleonic 'French' are Westphalian, Saxon and Polish :)
Hello and welcome!
Welcome, and have to agree, got to love the minor nations in Napoleonic times. I have always had an affection for these armies.
Welcome on board Naxto. My Spanish armies are all early C16th.
Hi Naxto and welcome to the forum

Andy
Bienvenido, muchacho! :-h
THAT is just showing off, Westie. ;)

Hello from Madrid, Spain.
Welcome Natxo
Have I spelled your name correctly?
Please be my friend. The last Spaniard I dealt with (via TMP) accused me of being 'stupid' and 'needing glasses' and took great insult when I suggested that he had an error on his British Napoleonic flags. Ehmm. I'm British, he's Spanish and has the nerve to suggest that his understanding of our Union flag is better than mine. He also implied that I was confused since he had no American Union troops.
I think he is an idiot.
He's not the sort of idiot that frequents this forum that we all know and love. Ain't that right guys?
Anyway welcome to this collection of madder than mad guys.
Keep posting.
Jim
I suspect it would be true to suggest that not all Spaniards are the same, and that this last post were better deleted, preferably with an apology.
Jim. Things do get heated on TMP. But remember the Spanish guy you argued with was working in his second or more likely third language. That he did not understanding the Union flag and confused it with Union flag in ACW is a simple error.
So perhaps a bit of allowance for not understanding all implication of what was said.

Thanks Phil
I gave the TMP'er every latitude I could possibly find. After he posted a picture of the faulty item claiming it was fully accurate other TMP'ers agreed that it was wrong and supported my comments. He still refused to agree that my comment was valid. I had even commended him for his AAR which he didn't acknowledge.
I have spoken to the manufacturer concerned and we are, hopefully, working towards a resolution.
I don't see the need for an apology as no insult has been made.
Jim,
Thanks for clearing that up. Sorry if I implied you needed to apologise.
Guess a numpty is a numpty in first second or third language.

Hi Phil, sorry the 'apology' option came in a previous posting. Jim
Conversation you will never see on TMP two people apologising

NOONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION.
Our chief weapon is surprise......
(Poor Naxto is going to wonder what on EARTH we're on about !) ;)
Cheers - Phil
Surely two weapons?
Ah .......Our two weapons are fear and surprise......... ;)
Cheers - Phil
And....... ?
Ruthless efficiency ! ;)
No one expects the Ten Mil Inquisition!
Our chief weapon is white metal, white metal and putty; two chief weapons, white metal, putty, and odd-shaped dice!
Er, among our chief weapons are: white metal, putty, odd-shaped dice and near fanatical devotion to Pendraken! Um, I'll come in again..."
;D ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D
I have merry memories of a class in Brno in which a teacher was pre-teaching vocabulary, including the word silly. Half a dozen Czechs referred to Monty Python, but the American teacher didn't know what they were talking about, so the tallest kindly demonstrated a silly walk.
;D ;D ;D
Was the teacher Mr.Smith, pronounced Luxury Yacht?
One of my mates had a couple of lectures on his course given by Mr Cleese.
Apparently, the first one he took he entered the room via a Silly Walk, slammed his books down and said somrthing like "Now that's out of the f$*&%£g way.....!" ;D
Reminds me of a mate who had a teacher called Sutch, because he entered the room and introduced himself as, "My name is Mr.Price and I wish to be known as such."
;D great story Tawa! ;D
