Does anybody use these rules with 10mm figures? And if so what size bases do you use? The rules recommend halving the dimensions used for 25/28 figures which gives a standard 60mm frontage to units. Alternatively the rules say you may prefer to use the 15mm base sizes instead which gives a 80mm frontage.

I have 10mm and 6mm armies based on 6cm wide bases and use Impetus and To the Strongest rules. The overall effect looks great.
For 10mm I put 12 close order infantry, 10 loose order and archers, 4 skirmishers. Cavalry are 5 per base or 3 for light cavalry. With these numbers per base I find I paint units up quickly.

With most of these conversions, it depends on how your troops are already based.
I've not played Impetus, but for other rules written primarily for 28mm figures, we have often gone with the 28mm base sizes, so that we get big impressive looking units - it helps that we already have pretty big armies to use.
For new rules / figures then its worth trying a few basing options out to see what you like the look of. Lately I am liking bigger bases, with slightly fewer figures which allow you to create diorama effects.
Edit - the number of figures bodvac gives for 60mm bases, are the kind of numbers I used to put on 40x20mm bases for Warmaster, which now just look crowded (and needed a lot of painting).

That's pretty close to the 10mm figures per base ratio that I use. I have a copy of Impetus but have never used them in anger, might give them a go now. Are the depths important because all of my chaps are based on 40mm depth?

The depth and/or frontage is pretty much irrelevant in Impetus provided both armies are based to the same dimensions. I went with the 60mm frontage for my 10mm Ottomans and Hapsburg armies, which is half the 25/8mm size, as suggested.

Leman, those are very nice Sassanids.
For Impetus base depth is not too important as long as both armies are based the same. I use 6x3cm for most units but 6x2cm for inf. Skirmishers.

Them thar Sassanids are damn fine. I like the tufty bases as well.
Cheers Sub, I think tufts on an otherwise unlocked base gives a good impression of arid terrain.
