Title: Lots of Monsters
Post by: fred. on 05 September 2010, 08:12:04 PM
I've spent the last week or so (on and off!) painting up various Monsters and critters I had lying around in anticipation of the arrival of the Pendraken Dungeon Pack.

They are figures I had picked up a few years ago for Warmaster, but hadn't used yet.  They are from a mix of manufacturers, all can be seen at this link http://www.kerynne.com/games/Monsters.html

But I've linked directly to the Pendraken ones as well.

Orc Boar Riders

Are these Sand Orcs?

Orcs with Polearms

Goblin Command (are these PD or Kallistra?)

Wolves - the RHS ones  are Pendraken

Trolls

Rock Trolls - not sure if this works as a paint scheme

Cheers for the pics Fred!

The second one is some modified Night Orcs, they come with spears normally: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Fantasy-c21/Night-Orcs-sc163/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Fantasy-c21/Night-Orcs-sc163/)

The Goblins are a mixture, FG2 with spear, FG1 with sword, FG11 musicians, and FG9 command.  Just a quick note, Kallistra use our figures but cast them on strips instead.

Ta Leon. Its so long since I bought these I couldn't remember if they were from a Kallistra command pack (and hence single based) or from yourselves.

So many beasts and bad guys ! I LOVE your night orcs !
Poor heroes, your dungeon will become overcrowded with vilains !

Thanks chaps.

I would quite like to add some monstrous creatures like a  hydra etc. But can't seem to see many options in the PD ranges (or further afield)

I've wanted to do a Hydra for ages!  It's just finding someone to design the thing.  I've been tempted to have a go myself, but my first few attempts at sculpting haven't set the world alight...!   :(

Had a look round for Hydras
There's a GW Warmaster one - looks really nice. And should do it costs £12. £12 for a 10mm model.  :d How can they charge that.

Found a 15mm one at £3.50, but they wanted the same again for postage.

Get sculpting Leon.

Still can't remember what this monster is (I think its code is DM13). Tried a couple of photos with different colours of plastic to affect the lighting

Some more pics of the Lizard men.

Finally managed to get a "looking down the tunnel" used a wide angle lens, and much cropping rather than my normal telephoto approach.
Also added a bit of extra light to the side of the corridor - using my daughter's sonic screwdriver!

A couple of other shots

Cheers Nik

They are nice figures 2 poses in the pack I got. The larger ones with shields and slightly smaller ones. I was going for a Glia Monster style with the paint scheme, this style

Though I don't think mine quite get there.

They look really really good !
Now I suggest you make lizardmen fight your Anubis guard, now THAT would be pulp to the core !  :)

Now there's an idea...

I've a few WWI French on the go who may get turned in to FFL.
