What methods do you employ when making thatched roofs in 10mm scale?
If at all possible, please provide an example of your work.
Thanks!

I could have sworn one of 'the gang' has posted something relevant to this, M'Lud
Damned if I can find it though. :(
Sure someone will be along soon to point you in the right direction. :)
Cheers - Phil.
I have in the past used modelling putty and etched the thatch into it when wet with a pin. It takes a bit of time, but it paints up well and I think gives a better look than teddy bear fur.
It will take me a while to find the model as all is still chaos after moving house.
Cheers
Ian
I haven't done but Teddy bear fur glued on then combed through with PVA seems popular
I use craft felt bought from Poundland's craft section. Glue it down onto the roof with a slight overhang on all sides to allow for shrinkage then cover the felt with watered down filler -also from Poundland- and, using an old comb, scrape downwards from the apex. Leave to dry -usually overnight- and paint.

I'd say it worked. Perhaps a hint of yellow dry-brushing?
They look good

Excellent work, I particularly like the second example!
