Title: If the Lord Spares Us Divsional HQ house rules
Post by: pierre the shy on 09 November 2015, 09:02:39 AM
As requested by Grumpy Old Man From the thread here: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,13079.0.html

These are the simple house rules we are trying out for ITLSU:

Divisional HQ's are treated as similar to Brigade HQ's as per Para 6.2 (Page 17) of ITLSU.

Only one Divisional HQ is allowed allowed per side at that controls all subordinate Brigade HQ's. The Commanding General will have leadership characteristics as per Para 6.5 (Page 19).

Divisional HQ's may issue orders to any Brigade HQ within command range, or by signallers if in contact as per the rules at normal PIP costs. These will be acted on by the Brigade HQ the next time the Brigade HQ is activated by the turn of their card. Orders must take the general form of those outlined in Para 6.7 (page 20) of ITLSU.

The Divisional HQ can only activate units directly under command of the Divisional HQ, not brigaded units. These must instead be activated by their appropriate Brigade HQ.

Divisional HQ may remove suppression points from any units within its command radius as per Brigade HQ's in the rules.

Brigade HQ's may likewise request support (e.g. artillery fire) from Divisional level units via Divisional HQ by expending 1 PIP. Requests will be noted and may be acted upon by Divisional HQ when its card is activated.  Actual PIP allocation is the choice of the player running the Divisional HQ.

I'll certainly be able to make use of that information for my 1914 Western Front games. Many thanks.

Funnily enough we played ITLSU on Lard Island yesterday.  I shoved a report on Lard Island News, here:

It got me fired up to get my 10mm Western Front stuff out and get cracking with that.

Great looking game Rich.

Even though ITLSU is one of TFL's older rule sets I really think they still work really well.  Personally I love the "fog of war" that the blinds mechanism gives.

Combined with 10mm troops they give a really good "feel" for WW1 period games that cover the opening moves in France up to the end of 1914 and outside the Western front from 1914 - 18).
