Superb !! :-bd
Thanks for sharing those, Bryan !
Cheers - Phil
Cracking stuff, makes me want to cry "Hussar, charge 'em boys!" :D
Awesome! 8)

Brilliant looking game
One minor thought, if you printed the various labels with a blue or grey background they wouldn't stand out as much. Also it would show which side the unit was on.
Alternatively a green background to blend a little more with base cloth.
A stunning looking game.
Really fantastic looking game. Excellent :-bd
Beautiful looking game, superb scenery and great looking figures.

Paul, surely the point of labels is that they should stand out?
Love seeing a battlefield in the ACW with plenty of snake fences and standing corn. I really appreciate when the same care is lavished on the terrain as on the figures.
Outstanding!

The Labels are color coded by brigade for easy identification.

Absolutely lovely ........ but now i have to go and re-paint my ACW and buy more :)
When I tried to open the link it wasn't having it, but those three pics almost make me think about doing ACW...as if I haven't got enough in my list of things to do. Great looking terrain, nice sized units -it's all there.
Fantastic looking game as always 8).
Absolutely brilliant! I wish My games looked as good as that: plenty of terrain and superb figures.
Cheers,
Aksu
Terrific! :-bd
Where did you get the fields of standing corn?
Link seems to have fixed itself. Lots of pictures of even more niceness.
Looking really good. ;) :)

Thanks Bryan, in the pictures they look white and distract a very little from the overall look of the game, which is fantastic.
In photography bright areas like these are referred to as "hot spots" and are a type of distraction...

Yes, but not too much if you are a picky bugger like me ;)
Just brilliant
Take care

This is a good point. I think I have a way I can reduce this effect for my next game.

I made the corn myself. Here's my blog post about them.

That is insanely cool
Beautiful troops and set up. Looks like a battle. :)
I like the way you are using casualty markers rather than dice.
:) Rob
I think cleaning up the edges of the flags would be time well spent; little white lines do rather negate mimesis.
Super terrain, let me add.

And I thought I was being picky mentioning the white labels... ;D ;D ;D
Oh, you were. ;)

Thanks, Bryan. No easy 'off the shelf' solution then .... but really useful to know and very effective nevertheless (hopefully one day I'll pluck up the courage to try it!).
A-maize-ing!
That looks really good . Just the inspiration I need to start on my ACW stuff

In addition to the accolades justly given for the scenery and figures, Bryan, may I also compliment you on the topography of the miniature battlefield? I was fortunate enough to pay a(n all too) brief visit to the battlefield in September and found it fascinating that the road on your layout leading from the bottom right is now a modern highway leading up to a crossroads and traffic lights at the Stone House. At the start of the said road (in the left hand corner), there is now an access road leading up to the Visitor Centre and ridge where Jackson 'won' his epithet ("There stands Jackson like a Stonewall!" - or words to that effect). The other two houses are clearly the Henry and Robinson Houses. Congratulations on capturing the essence of the centre of the 1st Bull Run/Manassas battlefield so well!

I'm a tad 'picky' that way myself and can't leave the white edges as they are - usually ending up painting over much of the flag
#-o - but worth it in the long run.

Sorry, browsing later (TV was boring so logged back in) and noticed I was talking p*** about the 'start of the the said road.' Access road to the visitor centre is "in the right hand corner" not the left as incorrectly stated before. :-[
Who cares anyway? Well, for those who do ....
That looks great...

The school example of how any wargame should look really... amazing!
Especially like the big units; not the typical BP 16 man regiments and stuff; but all out war. Impressive!
Cheers,
Rob
Superb, simple as that! m/
