Not a great photo, but here's my 1:600 bomber group of B17s (minus nose art).
Need some touching up, then a varnish.

Thanks to BigJackMac for the Lego idea, and to Fierce kitty for the idea of using felt pens.
Not sure what to do with the bases. I'm thinking of putting some kind of texture on them, leaving just a few dots to use. One of these bases takes 2 large bombers, or 4 fighters quite comfortably.
Very nice fella! 8)
Looking good.
Definitely do something to cover the pegs on the Lego bases they are quite distracting. I assume the idea of the Lego is to allow for easy height adjustment?
Are the joins between the bricks strong enough for the big bombers?
They're on 4x6 plates. Small stability problem if I take one off, unless I move the remaining bomber.
The Lego does allow for easy height adjustment.
For this particular scenario, I'm thinking the bomber stream will basically be static, whilst fighters buzz around them, and damaged bombers will "drop back" by going backwards.
A mighty Armada
Great work

Looking really good, Nobby ! :)

Looks Good Nobby.
You could fill the underside of the lowest lego brick with milli put of even small lead shot of fishing weights then add some suprt glue.
I used 1/2 CD's with posts made from cotton bud tubes. Each takes 3 TD 17's.
Painted mine silver.

Ian,
Looks great, and I'm glad the Legos are working out for you :D
I myself stole the idea from another gamer :-[

What game are these for and where did you buy the models? Nice work!
Ah! I don't use commercially available rule sets. I will write my own. No, I haven't done it yet.
