Sounds as though that was a good game, Konstantinos.
You'll know next time. ;)

Can't believe you chose to go in against dug-in Turks without over a third of your artillery! Think of all the little lead lives you sacrificed!
But since you and Onur evidently had a good time, their sacrifice was not in vain. ;)

Great looking game!

Oh yes. That said I believe a victory can be had for the Russians with 7 guns instead of 13. Especially if one follows the brown plan. But you need good command rolls.
I just found the report from when we fought the whole 4-battle Russo-Turkish War campaign in a weekend, two battles a day:
"The Russians need to capture two objectives for a win, one for a draw. They opted to concentrate the weight of their artillery south of the Grivitsa river against the central Ibrahim Tabiya redoubt, while demonstrating against the Turkish flanks to pin defenders there. The Russians spent several moves softening up the Ibrahim and were able to capture it on the penultimate turn. However, the "Impetuous Prince" rule had come into play, with one of Shahofskoi's regiments rolling 12, advancing rashly and prematurely to be mown down. This was ultimately crucial, as the early loss of this one regiment left them just too weak to exploit their success and take a second redoubt. Active Turkish defence also contributed: at one point the Turkish cavalry raided towards the Green Hills, forcing Skobelev's artillery to decamp, instead of supporting the Russian attack on their second target, the Araba Tabiya. Result: Draw."
I guess that's most akin to your original plan - except the Russians brought all their guns in our game!
The full campaign report is in the BBB Yahoo group files. Of course there are now two more BBB RTW scenarios available.
