Title: Volksturm and Hitler Youth
Post by: T Madvid on 22 October 2015, 01:55:51 PM
Any chance you could produce a few volksturm and hitler youth models for the late war period?

Can't answer that myself.....But as you 'snuck' onto the forum a few days ago, without us noticing....A very warm welcome, Madvid.

Hi Madvid,

welcome to the forum from me too!

It would be nice to have a few Volksturm not armed with panzerfausts, right enough. GR144 is a bit lost and lonely to be honest. Some figures in largely civilian outfits, a couple of poses with rifles and one with MG34, maybe.

They would also double as partisans, which I'd find useful too.

Hi All

Current proxies for Volksturm/Militia/Partisans:-

VBCW Civilian with shotgun http://www.pendraken.co.uk/BR154-p6017/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/BR154-p6017/)

Boer War - any of the Boers without the folded hat brim - http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Colonial-c16/Boer-War-sc103/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/Colonial-c16/Boer-War-sc103/)

Maybe a few WW1 British in greatcoat mixed in:- http://www.pendraken.co.uk/BP30-p3890/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/BP30-p3890/)

For Hitler Youth maybe the WW1 Austrians in cap are the best proxies:-

Maybe some DAK in shorts as well.

Maybe DAK heavy weapons for both, can't find any pics though

Cheers

As far as I can see Hitler Youth combat troops (as opposed to the Hitler Jugend SS unit) look like regular German troops just smaller and slighter. Perhaps field some of the larger 6mm WW2 Germans? :)

If you do make some ensure they don't resemble a certain German footballer otherwise you'll have trouble on your hands.  ;) ;)

My post was a reference to Subedai's - I have no idea which footballer is being referenced or why.

If we're talking "don't mention the Hitler Youth" surely the prime candidate is ex-Pope Benedict who was an unwilling member but had the association brought up regularly.

Weren't they all unwilling members after 1945?   :d :d

Hi I.
The footballer is Sebastion Sweinsteiger (Of Manchester United)....

He has taken exception to a 'Nazi Doll' (Bastion) produced in Hong Kong, that bears a resemblance to him.

Thanks Phil.

Looked up the story and was amused to see the Chinese firm basically saying, "All these Germans look the same to me!" :)
