Get your ferry booked as Shetland is having it's very own show. :)
Okay so it may not be up to Claymore Size, but we have to start somewhere. This covers everything from RPG's via card and boardgames to Wargames. I will be running a prehistoric hunting game using my 10mm stuff. I will be showing off my Sudan stuff too.
If I had the cash I would have put on a Warband game, but maybe next year.
So if you happen to be in Lerwick on Saturday 31st October pop along to the Iseburgh between 10.00 - 17.00
Good luck with it, hope it goes well! What are the costs like for getting over to the Islands? It's a bit short notice for this year, but could be an option in the future.
That adds another reason to go to Shetland! Always wanted to go...

Awwww! Best of luck. Bet my cousin attends.
He's a fairly big chap, stocky, beard. Answers to "Oi."
Good luck with that, looking forward to a report.

I know there is a small but active group of wargamers in Orkney but don't know if they get as far as Shetland.
Good luck with the hsow but a bit too far for me to make a day trip. Possibly a long weekend in the future though...

Put it this way, getting to the continent might be cheaper.

There have been some joint games, due to work I haven't been able to get.

But at the end of the day, mammoth hunting is simple man with spear, man with bow...dog.... That's one side sorted.... Errrr Mammoth other side sorted. I have bulked out the fauna with some of magister beasties ;)

You know it is going to bad leaving Aberdeen when the Master tells all those without a cabin to find a safe place to lie down!!!!
Sounds great
Would be cool to see some real 10mm horses as well
Well the day went well, around 50 people through the door (bearing in mind there are 4 clubs up here in various guises) so we are quite pleased with the numbers. We will look forward to next year.
Any photos? Did the Shetland Times send a reporter?
That's pretty good, I didn't know there were that many wargamers up there! Good to hear it went well.

Same day as the food fair, so they got all the press down at the Clickimin. A whole host of photos were taken by chaps up here.
I will see if I can find where they are.

Yep we have quite a few :). If my brain had been in gear I would have got a couple of Warband armies and done a game with them. As it happens Mammoth butchering went down well ;)
Congrats, sounds like it went well :-bd
Great stuff, glad to hear it went well
Cheers
