Title: Shetland Show
Post by: Maenoferren on 19 October 2015, 06:23:06 PM
Get your ferry booked as Shetland is having it's very own show. :)
Okay so it may not be up to Claymore Size, but we have to start somewhere. This covers everything from RPG's via card and boardgames to Wargames. I will be running a prehistoric hunting game using my 10mm stuff. I will be showing off my Sudan stuff too.

If I had the cash I would have put on a Warband game, but maybe next year.
So if you happen to be in Lerwick on Saturday 31st October pop along to the Iseburgh between 10.00 - 17.00

Good luck with it, hope it goes well!  What are the costs like for getting over to the Islands?  It's a bit short notice for this year, but could be an option in the future.

He's a fairly big chap, stocky, beard. Answers to "Oi."

I know there is a small but active group of wargamers in Orkney but don't know if they get as far as Shetland.

Put it this way, getting to the continent might be cheaper.

There have been some joint games, due to work I haven't been able to get.

Thanks guys, I will let you know how it gets on. Sadly my Mongol project stalled, otherise I might have gone for them to put on a game. But at the end of the day, mammoth hunting is simple man with spear, man with bow...dog.... That's one side sorted.... Errrr Mammoth other side sorted. I have bulked out the fauna with some of magister beasties ;)

Well the day went well, around 50 people through the door (bearing in mind there are 4 clubs up here in various guises) so we are quite pleased with the numbers.  We will look forward to next year.

That's pretty good, I didn't know there were that many wargamers up there!  Good to hear it went well.

Yep we have quite a few :). If my brain had been in gear I would have got a couple of Warband armies and done a game with them. As it happens Mammoth butchering went down well ;)
