Severe Superglue Headache....

Two Goblin Armies based up ready for undercoating and then fine grit sanding of the base. The weathers dull but I might get away with undercoating these today and if I do would also hope to get the bases gritted ready for painting.

I have yet to decide on a theme for the armies. I'm thinking traditional Goblin for one army whilst aiming for an Uruk-Hai inspired theme for the second army with dark red skins and white hand of Saruman face tatoos.

I'm also running one of the goblin armies without a Shaman (the traditional scheme) although I will probably end up purchasing a second shaman group as I feel they'll be quite brittle without one.

The Uruk-hai inspired army has a more militarised feel to it with units of shieldwall troops.

Managed to get further than expected yesterday and found time to experiment with a scheme for the Uruk Hai White Hand of Saruman scheme.

Nice, if you like that sort of thing ;)

Perhaps a brown was to tone down the red a bit :-\

I really like those, the red skin works well for me and the white hand print is a nice contrast.

That was meant to be a brown wash

Making good progress today on the Uruk-Hai inspired warband. All of the units now have the skin tones done. Lots still to do but already the army is coming neatly together.

Two units of archers, a giant crossbow unit, a unit of bolt shooters and a Giant/Troll stand finished today.

The Chieftain, Shaman, three units of shieldwall and two of wolf riders finished today.

I'm not entirely happy with these :( Although the red skin/white hand theme seems to work they somehow look untidy which is probably a good thing for Goblins..... I am hoping that tidying up the bases and adding clump foliage will lift these a bit.

I think it maybe down to painting units in bulk. When I did a stand at a time the finish somehow comes out neater. It could be that or it could be painting after night shifts. Not sure which. :-\

Hope to get some photos up before the end of the weekend ;)

I find painting a unit at a time the best way to go. Otherwise I get bored and try to rush through them
