You know you want to!
Some very nice links. The second one gives you an idea of how quickly cavalry could close to combat, especially if they suprised you before you had time to form square etc.
Just a quick note, I've edited the original post to embed the videos.

Great stuff!! :-bd

My thoughts exactly. Amazing how quickly they rode up that hill.
By the time you had worked out who's side they were on, it would be too late
(particularly worrying if your commander is short-sighted before the introduction
of specs).
(I'm sure I've read that this was a problem for Tallard at Blenheim).
Thanks for posting these - some pretty inspirational stuff.

Good find !
thanks for posting KTravlos !
Yes, those donkey-wallopers can certainly budge along. Hmm... Food for thought there. Nice find, thanks for sharing. :)
Very interesting
According to the friend that posted the Danish video, they are operating in skirmish order, which would be the default way to do in 1864.
Love the way there is one horse that rides in after all the others on the Danish video! Bet he gets picked last for football too! ;D
Horses play football? :o
Only got round to viewing this post now. I particularly like the first video.
Looking at some of the details on the uniforms & horse furniture prompts me to go and touch up a few hussars.
Paint-wise! Shockarooney! You thought? Really? Tut, tut!

Well every group has guys who only jump in when the fight is definately turning in favour of the group.
Might be picked last for football, but has enough time to turn the horse around when the charge goes bad ;D ;D ;D
