Hi all
Can anybody give me some basic spray painting tips eg PSI pressure
Dave :D
I have learned from experience that you have to point the nozzle at the thing you wish to paint.
Otherwise you end up a little bit like this ...

Don't use spray - apart from in cans. Sorry.
That looks disconcertingly familiar fsn.

I didn't release I had to turn the gun around I've ruined two pair of glasses so far ;D
I only use the revell basic starter kit for airbrushing, and that works well. There's only 3 'power buttons' oniit so don't know how much pressure they give, i only know it goes faster if i put it on high.
Seems to work good though:

Well.....
I'm impressed ! 8)

I couple of my gaming mates have recently started airbrushing stuff - I think mainly 40k.
Their main tips seem to be, practice on some paper / card first, and don't try to put too much paint on in one go. I think low pressure was generally recommended.
They have got decent results fairly quickly. Including doing some pre-shading by spraying the black/dark colour upwards at the model (or holding the model upside down) and then spraying a light base coat down on to the top of the model - I think this is called zenithal shading.
That are also pleased with the speed of getting a number of models done in a solid colour.
This has a lot of basics and tips >> LINK << (http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Airbrushing-Paint-Viscosity-and-Air-Pressure-Tips-/10000000001649166/g.html)
I have a Decent Badger airbrish and a compressor woith a small Tank.
I have used it a bit for 10mm and found it quite useful.
I use 10-20 PSI.
Getting the paint to the correct thickness is a must
Thin layers of paint.
I used painted a three colour camoflage on my 10mm Poles. I laminated a sheet of white paper, cut it into strips and then cut very small shapes on the stip and used it as a template to spray though.
Practice is the key, and a good airbrish helps - you can paint the tyres of a 10mm truck without geting the paint on the body fairly quickly.
Weatherng and special effects I have not tried yet.
Hi Dave,
I've used a Badger airbrush for a while now and find it really useful, but not in the ways I originally thought I would. For figures I find it not worth the effort, but for tanks and other vehicles it's brilliant. I will be at Derby this coming Saturday so will talk to you about it then (as you relieve me of my money :D).
Cheers, Rob :) :)
Badgers, small tanks....bucket of frogs time for all of you, I say.
Thanks everybody for the information :D I'll try 20psi and thin the vallejo paints to milk consistancy.
