Right then, finally got some more figures done!
After reading some books on the 19th century Afghan campaigns I thought it would be a good idea to ge my Pashtun tribesmen done....
Wonderful figures with such beautiful detail; really a joy to paint!

Taking pictures with a phone does not really bring out the detail but it will have to do for now...

The stones really give the bases a certain plus. Really nice looking chaps.
I have to be honest about the bases; the rulebook 'Battles for Empire' suggested it would be nice to put some specific scenery on your bases:
'In contrast, Pathan and Boer rifle units should be based to illustrate their use of cover and the terrain over which they preferred to fight. The addition of rocks and other natural debris behind which the figures are crouching wil add much to the look and flavour of the game.'
I think they nailed it!

A great looking army - well done
Do you have a NWF force to oppose them yet?
I have quite a large British Boer War army so for the '97 uprisings I'm pretty well supplied. I plan to do some extra's though; Ghurka's, Indian troops, mountain guns etc.
Extremely nicely painted figures and bases...however...I do question the advisability of cavalry galloping through a bolder field!
Ghurka's what? And shouldn't you have more than one?
MEEEEOWWWWW.

I stand corrected sir, Gurkhas it is...
Nothing as easy as admitting a mistake if that's all it takes to make other people happy! ;)

Galloping through a boulder field may be ill advised indeed but these bases tie the unit together so much more that I took the liberty of doing it anyway though I did think of the same...

Rob
