Title: Ishlanddwlyaanyah (or whatever) all over again.
Post by: FierceKitty on 05 September 2015, 10:52:02 AM
My English couldn't do a thing right against the Zulus today. Ambushed on the march, gattlings missing targets, NMR jumped while still mounted, Sir Percy MacHogg shot (SHOT) by a Zulu with a musket, broken square, impetuous attack by 17th got nutcrackered. Only the Scots had any success, and it wasn't enough.
Well, as a South African, I should be cheering for the home team, no doubt.

I didn't realise the Zulus had sent an invasion force to Wales.

Natural camouflage in the characteristic Cambrian environment....

According to the well know dermatologist, Dr May Dittup, Zulus have an astonishingly porous epidermis.
Therefore, they would be unable to survive in the Welsh climate, without becoming completely waterlogged.
Natural camouflage would be of no advantage, whatsoever.

The warcry of Cetshwayo's Zulus was "Usuthu!" apparently.

.. except in the Welsh Campaign ... when it was, "Boyo" ...... (or was it, "Yakki da?")

[BTW. Liked the 'Welsh' crack, Leman]

Were they fans of the communications officer on Star Trek?

Surely you're getting confused , Nobby...Wasn't Usuthu the result of Sulu and Uhura having an affair ?  :D
(Though I don't think that particular episode was ever shown.)

Trust the Welsh to write in code.

Just as well we have our own in-house enigma (Leman). ;)
