Seems the done thing to introduce oneself, so here goes.
I'm a lapsed wargamer (35 years) who is making tentative forays in to small skirmish games using 10mm figures (due to space constraints).
Other interests include Wings of Glory WWI and role-playing games.

WRANING DANGER DANGER, all on here are now insane....
Welcome Neil
BTW - no mention of native central Americans with a name beginning with A....
IanS ;)
Just say "Down, boy" and whack him with a newspaper if he bothers you.
Hello and welcome Neil.
Hi Neil,
always nice to see someone returning to the wargaming fold!
As Ian has ably demonstrated, the forum can be cryptic and eccentric. :)
It can also be knowledgeable, helpful, supportive, amusing and interesting! So if you want to know what a particular figure looks like, what people use to represent the 5th Ligurian Linguine Lancers or what the facing colours for the formal dress of the Corps of Cowards and Deserters were in nineteen-canteen there may well be someone here who can help.
The in-jokes and personal hobby-horses and eccentricities become clear in time :)
Welcome from me too, Neil. :-h
Cheers - Phil
Hi Neil, welcome to the Forum!

Welcome Neil. You are probably looking at skirmish games with the best of intentions, but my money's on a gradually, but exponentially, expanding lead mountain.
Welcome Neil, great forum here, very knowledgeable and friendly bunch. You have started down a dangerous path as 10mm is such a good scale and Pendraken figures are brilliant you will want the lot!!
Wotcha and welcome from me as well.
I'm sorry, but how people cannot be involved in wargaming for more than 6 months, let alone 35 years, truly amazes me. I've been at it since 1970 and have absolutely no intention of stopping now for anything, well, perhaps one thing, but only one thing.
On the up side, at least you have returned to the one true hobby.
Ar'noon Cadet Ford.
I used to know someone from Wiltshire. Extraordinary fellow, used to drink mild and bitter about the old days he was, always said that things used to be better stop dribbling on, I'm sure you want to look at some new him did you? Lovely fellah, name of ... of ... John, Joe, Jim ... so you might well have come across bar on his bike ... yes that's it, he used to cycle through the options on his washing machine, loved his washing powder, Bold he was, as a tiger, but of course you knew him didn't you play against his Sanassids in '78? Or was that someone else?
How is he?

See! :D
Welcome Neil,
As others have said don't expect to keep yourself constrained to Sskirmish wargames. Things have a habbit of expanding.
There are possiblly only about three sane members of this forum. I am one of them :-\.
FSN obviously is due either some of his purple pills or a session with hs "freind" Miss Whiplash, or possibly both.
P.S. The nurses have kindly undone my jacket so I can type this as the sleeves are normally tied up at the back. Have to go now , they are getting a little jittery
Thanks all for the interesting welcome!
Being a hopeless painter, I can never see myself painting masses of figures, so that is a self limiting factor.
- Neil.
Ink washes/army painter help a lot! ;)

Block colours, then Magic Wash over the whole little chap; can't go wrong. Lots of people use it, a bottle of the stuff lasts for yonks and it's oodles less expensive than any of those specially formulated systems.
