So, here's the first figures from my new ECW Royalists (I'm going to try the Regiment of Foote rules).
I've been missing for several months and thought it was time to resurface.
Hello.
Well if you've spent that time producing stuff this good it was worth going missing for. Having played Regimente of Foote for a good few years I can recommend them. The prelude campaign is great fun.
Thanks for the kind words.
I'm just looking forward to painting some Royalists.
I'm thinking early war, so regiments will be generally 50/50 pike and shotte, and clothing varied in hue; well, you know, brown and blue, but varied.
Nice work indeed, Plastic. 8)
Cheers - Phil
Nice work.
Been taking your name a bit literally haven't you?

Yeah. Took a break from it all.
It's Metal Insider from now on.
I always come back to the seventeenth century. It's such a strange period.
Nice! :D
Looking forward to seeing more of these.

Welcome back, great work!

Early war in the west is my favourite period. A bunch of amateurs and a chance to use cuirassiers. And Caliver publish a scenario campaign book for it.

Really? I can feel an itch.
ECW is great stuff. I won a battle with it at last on Sunday.

Were you round-headed, or pointy-chinned?
Roundheads this time. I usually play the other side.

As well you should, sir! :D
Yes, it's so much more fun being a supporter of a monarch who believes in the Divine Right of Kings and keeping the plebs in their place ....... NOT!!

My political views are very left wing but wargaming ECW, Monmouth Rebellion etc I always find myself drawn to the royalist cause. :-/

I'm just to the left of the extreme left, politically, so I'm generally more sympathetic to the Royalist cause. (Controversial, moi? Oh alright then.)
I'm so far left I take great pleasure in calling my Trotskist step-father a fascist!
Parliamentary through and through!
Progress (awful photo...)
Hmmmm.... :-\
Should the photo 'enlarge' ? (Doesn't appear to want to. :()
From what I can tell...They look damn fine, Plastic.

Perennial iPad perils. I'll upload a picture from my clockwork PC when I get to work.
iPad App for re-sizing ..... I can highly recommend IMAGE SIZE
Instead of enlarging it leapt into my downloads file!! ?? :-/
Fingers crossed (I bet you're all on the edge of your seats...)
Mmmmmmm.

BA plays much better in smaller scales IMO - the figure to ground scale just looks so much better!

Seconded, saw a 28mm Bolt Action game at Call to Arms and the vehicles in particular looked to be way too close

And smaller scales just work so much better on domestic boards, at least for larger battles. I'd love to play over a 12x8' table, but that's not going to happen.
I'm not sure I could even do a 12*8 at the club, at least not without stealing the other groups tables :D
Right: here's the regiment so far.
Looking very cool !! 8)
