The manuscripts of the Cántigas of Alfonso X (http://www.warfare.altervista.org/Cantiga/Cantigas_de_Santa_Maria.htm) are dated c.1284 or sometimes earlier.
I don't think they have been deliberately enhanced but the brightness of reproductions can vary.
