I watched the Alamo on Sunday, yes i know its a bad film, but it reawakened an intrest in the 1846 war between Mexico and the USA. So how about a new range for this period?
You could actually call it the American War of Liberation Range and include figures suitable for the earlier wars with Simon Boliva and co as well.
I am currently reading Training Ground a history of the Mexican American War and would request that if you ever did a range please do not call it American War of Liberation. Mexican American War, Polk's Wars or Was of American Expansion would all be fine titles but the Texans and Americans did not liberate anyone. :'(
Fun idea, though if I did this one I'd probably go for a larger scale to do the obvious character figures in more detail than my ageing eyes can handle in 10mm.
Agree about liberation point, but it would sell better in the US with a name like that. I was amazed after 9/11 how many Americans used the term "cowards" to talk about the suicide attackers. Murderous, fanatical, brutal, stupid and religious, yes, but if that was cowardice, I can't think of much that would qualify as brave.
Ref lack of liberation: Didn't John Wayne aka Davy Crockett 'liberate' a finely proportioned Mexican young lady in the film?
