The church is 12th century and has 12th century and later frescos. Does anyone have more information about this, such as the date of this fresco or the identity of the knights depicted?

That should inspire some of those keen on the feudal period (including me).
I have had a reply that this tapestry site:
Medieval Knight Left - medieval knights - Wall tapestries - Mille Fleurs Tapestries (http://www.millefleurstapestries.com/en/12072)
gives the identity of the left knight as Thibaud de Montmorency, son of Bouchard III de Montmorency.
