Title: Piedmont 16pdr cannon 1859
Post by: Chad on 05 July 2015, 10:13:16 AM
Thinking of using a Napoleonic 12pdr for the above. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Freikorps list both an Italian 10 and 6 pounder, on Napoleonic type carriages.
Will keep looking.

Had a look at the Baccus 6mm Piedmont reserve artillery model. It looks very similar to a French 12pdr of the period so I would go with that in 10mm

Have a look at this, about four pictures down; 12 Pounder looks good as a match!

I agree. Googled some images of 1859 and found one of Italians removing a gun from the line. It was big with a brass tube and light blue-grey paintwork. Very similar looking to the French 12 pdr. I reckon we have found the proxy.
