I got a few more of the figures painted and took some pictures. I really love this range joy to paint!!!

Nice looking game - I know nothing about this war (so little I didn't even know what APW meant :-[ )
I've found the scenarios in 1 hour wargames are really useful - I haven't tried the actual rules - but they have made me think of playing some games :)
Very cool figures Lekw! 8)
Very nice, indeed !! 8)
Cheers - Phil
Nice work and really love them photographed in situ.
Looking very good indeed.
Agreed. Like both the units and terrain. :-bd
Thanks all glad you like them.
Really nice Lewk, niggling point, your Austrian brigadiers should be wearing field dress (grey/blue) not parade dress .... HOWEVER, I'm intrigued by your terrain, how have you done it, what is it made from, do you game on it or is it just for the photo?
As far as I can see one of the brigadiers is wearing field dress. How often do napoleonics appear in full dress on the battlefield? C19th general officers had a pretty elastic attitude to field dress, so my only worry is - what a fine target for the needle gun.
Yes I keep meaning to repaint him but keep forgetting. I think I am starting to get attracted to him in dress uniform and may actually keep him that way. A fine target for the Prussian skirmishers :o
General Skobeleff in 1877 demonstrated that the best way to avoid getting hit was to wear a distinctive uniform that makes the enemy aim directly at you, and therefore miss. (Of course it was bad news for all the aides in his vicinity. And maybe it only worked for the Turkish 1877 standard of marksmanship.)

Love them and oh my Chris that was indeed funny. And yes Skobeleff is one of a kind. I am meaning to read the Erast Fandorin story that deals with his "demise".
Very nice chaps and decent looking terrain as well.
So back to the terrain Lekw .... what is it, how do you do it etc etc
The terrain is actually much simpler then it looks. I use an old green bed sheet that I spray painted random green and yellow colors. I then use pastels to draw in roads and rivers. I am still experimenting with colors. Finally I put forests, fields and buildings/walls in place. Its all a work in progress and I dream of one day having sand tables and custom terrain boards but as of now this system is relatively quick to set up and put away. Another important factor for me is that it takes up relatively little space to store. I get most of my ideas from the wonderful stuff posted on this forum!!!
Ok thanks.
No worries glad you like the terrain. Maybe I should do a "how to", showing step by step how I set it up on the blog. Hopefully will get some more stuff up soon.
