I am sourcing all figures in field cap that can be used for 1960s Third World militia. Can anyone conform if this figure is cast in a helmet or a DAK cap? Also GR45 cyclist who looks like being in a field cap?
The other DAK figures blend well with WW1 Austro-Hungarians and WW2 US Marines like the bazooka gunner and officer on walkie-talkie. Some caps just need a gentle filing to the crown.
I have just looked at mine and its a helmet I am afraid
I'll confirm the MP-40 is helmet, but the rifle pack has three poses, two of which are soft cap, and the Officer pack has a soft cap:

All three are on the far right stand.

Many thanks for this intel. Yes, I have the three riflemen in the cap, the officer, the artillery/MG crew and the radio operator. Just looking for an smg pose to go with them.
Since you are mixing nationalities anyway, maybe you could use the russian smg with 'pilotka' cap:
