The Nara Monastery

My aunt and uncle were out in Japan for a few years and spent a couple of weeks in guest quarters at Nara. My cousin and I had been offered the chance to go out and stay with them if we could make our own way there but turned the offer down as we decided the cost of the trip would leave us broke. We'd have been able to stay in the temple complex too. Given the pair of us have wound up broke most of our adult lives perhaps we should just have gone :)

If you haven't visited Japan yet, sell the kids or take out a third mortgage and go. It's narrowly beaten into first place only by Italy.
