Title: Ashes 2015
Post by: Upgraydd on 29 May 2015, 12:23:02 AM
So only 39 days to go until the Ashes series starts, is it too early to engage smug mode  ;)

Depends on how the weather behaves.  ;)
Could be a draw, with five wash outs !

Cheers - Phil

I'm going for a narrow England win - the Aussies aren't as good as they think they are, and we aren't as bad as we think we are

(disclaimer: I may rethink this after the first test when you are more than entitled to enter 'smug' mode)

England frequently loses the first test in a successful Ashes series.

Five draws would be a good result on current form...

It may be too early, they still need to get though the West Indies tour without injuries and they are an old bunch. I think I will wait until they arrive in England before getting too cocky  :)

At least for Australia anyway, let's call that first test a head start. Anyhoo it's back on a gain so more late nights for me, unless the English put up a fight again and I go to bed early  ;)

Don't panic Mr Mainwaring :)

Plenty of cricket left to play yet in this test let alone the series. The Aussies play their best cricket after an upset.

Proof again that the Aussies don't like typical English Summers and England play better with a partizan crowd behind them.

Plenty more Cricket left in this game and the series.....

After two days of the third test......
I was thinking of putting a £1 on an Australian win......But not at the feeble odds the bookies are quoting.
They really don't trust England not to implode.......Even from this advantageous position.

I'm amazed at how poor both sides have been in this match with regards to batting. It does make for an interesting match but anyone with tickets for the weekend will be mightily peeved, given the likely finish today.

Thanks for the info Nosher. If the Aussies build a lead of 130 plus, it could make for a tense finish to the match given both sides batting form...

I've gone back and had a look at the odds, again.
I know the bookies really stack things to their advantage but........

For the current Test.

The meanest odds are 33 to 1 ON, on an England win......12 to 1 against an Australian win.

The best odds on an Australian win are 20 to 1 against.....
Certainly not worth a 'punt'.
