Title: Suggestions needed for Traveller game

I have a problem and am looking for ideas...

My character is trying to kill a guarded prisoner on our spaceship. The prisoner is a strong psionic, who has in the past tried to kill most of the crew at one time or another as he wants our hi-tec ship. We even have documented evidence of some of the attempts! 

Yet I am the only one who wants to kill him.

I have tried poisoned food which was discovered, now his food is prepped by one of the guards  :(

I am not allowed to visit him.

Any suggestions? The GM is aware that I am going to try at least once each session  :)

Interfere with life-support, while creating a plausible and serious-looking diversion elsewhere?

Blow up the skin on the part of the ship he is on
Arrange a failure of air supply
Biological agent on the guard
Redirect some space junk into the ship
Hack into the ship's computer and use that to kill him

Introduce an Alien or two into the ship
Suborn a guard


What's his psionic power?

Not entirely sure on his psionic ability, but he can attack with it. He is is drugged/unconcious at the moment

The ship is a bit Blakes 7ish

Seduce one of the other players who controls a guard, take photographs, and threaten to reveal them to his or her partner and colleagues unless the prisoner meets with an accident.

Don't think I'm the one to ask about this.

As several GMs have found, to the cost of their campaigns, my solutions tend to involve things like inducing a sudden, catastrophic failure of the engines/ power plant/ armoury leading to the vaporisation of the ship and the need for all players to create new characters.

I am the reason one GM changed systems from Traveller to Paranoia! :)

Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: Well, if she doesn't get us some extra flow from the engine room to offset the burn-through, this landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Define "interesting."
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [Deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: [Grabs PA microphone] This is the captain. We're having a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.
[Hangs up microphone]
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Can you shave the vector?
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: I'm doing it, it's not enough.
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Well, just get us on the ground.
Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: That part'll happen pretty definitely.

Do nothing for five of six sessions, apart from completely ignoring the psycher.

Are there any escape pods on the ship ?
If yes....Set the ship to auto destruct and escape.

Everybody dies, except you.....You win.
(Simplest ideas are the best.)

High risk but how about interfering with his drug supply so that he becomes so dangerous that the crew have to kill him to survive? Meanwhile, you keep out of the way (unless you get a good opportunity to slot him). Then, if things get too dicy while he is running amok throughout the ship, adopt Phil's plan. You then have a plausible (?) excuse for such drastic action.  :>


Why not ask Wile E. Coyote? He's usually got good ideas.

How deniable or survivable for you does the death have to be? For most levels of sane anything that gets you caught or blows the whole ship up is likely out, I suspect!

If your character is good with computers then hack life support to the compartment he's held in. Or to the guards compartment, then go in & job the prisoner. Hack the medicomp - his normal drugs are seamlessly switched to irrecoverable poison. Or physically mess up the delivery method for the drugs - poisoned needle/patch/dispenser etc. They'll maybe check the drugs say "sleep dose" but will they check the syringe isn't smeared inside with poison.

Can you dodge the life support and seal him off, eg an alert happens, they switch each compartment to individual sealed environment, then you open the gas tanks an fill his room with carbon monoxide gas etc.

Basically anything that makes the players or automatics trip into "save him/lock access" mode, but that means they just can't help him when the actual hit happens.

The problem with computers is that if one person can hack them then so can someone else and you could be busted that way. I reckon something simple like a good old fashioned stiletto knife in the ribs-thought I'd better clarify that to avoid any confusion- or maybe a slow acting toxin delivered by a palmed needle or similar.

Snitch a weapon inside his cell, when he'll try to escape, be sure to be there to shoot him first.

This.

Switch the drugs to something toxic. When they administer it, he will die instead of being rendered unconscious.  They may think it's an aderse drug reaction.
