Yesterday morning we got a call from our youngest lad -the actor currently understudy to about half the cast of Sunny Afternoon, the Story of the Kinks in the West End- asking if we wanted to see the show as the actor playing Ray Davies would be off for a couple of days and that he would be playing the lead. We were on the train almost before the conversation had finished.
After not having a single dress rehearsal for the role he absolutely nailed it, belting out You Really Got Me and Lola like a natural.
I can recommend the show, even if you have no interest in the story, the music is the dogs and I found myself singing along to all the Kinks classics.
My son rocks! (Actually all three of our smalls do but he is the one in the public eye to any great degree.)
Brilliant !!
Not surprised you're so chuffed ! :)
Cheers - Phil
Nice one.
That is so cool! 8)
Break a leg, kid!
Well done that kid =D> ;)
Great stuff!
I bet you were dancing around the house, "All day & all of the night !"
(Well someone had to start some Kinks' tunes puns. ;))
Cheers - Phil
I can't think of any. You really got me. :-\
Btw - another proud day, Sub!
Where I come from, 'smalls' are underwear ...
Thanks all, we had a great time. All his Uni mates -most of whom are up and coming actors by the way- came to see and cheer him on. He got a standing ovation and two curtain calls. Not bad for your first lead role.
Being 'A Well Respected Man' I suppose tomorrow I will have to be 'Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon'. (Sorry, but I didn't start it.)
