Dave Fielder and I had a cracking game of Black Powder a couple of nights ago :). The AAR can be found below. All figures are from the Pendraken SYW range and lovely they are too. It's a shame that there aren't any photos on the website, but this might be a blessing in disguise as I might not be able to resist buying them!

Lovely report Steve 8)
Cracking, I'm going to be doing an intro WSS game with the club in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering what size to pitch it at. This nicely answers my question ;)
Glad it has given you some pointers for your game Toxic and happy that you liked it Lemmey :).
Excellent looking game and report. Like you I am not totally convinced by Last Argument of Kings' attitude to Prussians, as it makes them far too powerful. Consequently I shall be tweaking their stats, but sticking with Black Powder.
Great stuff !
Thanks for sharing. :)
Cheers - Phil

In 'Honours of War', the Prussians decline markedly as the war progresses, reflecting losses in men and materiel. I shall be following these guidlines for my future solo games with BP.
Super stuff!! :-bd :-bd
Very nice report!
Looked like a tense game!

The report makes really good reading, thank you. Nice and clear objectives
and I might have to borrow it for Warmaster.
I was very impressed by the terrain pieces and your basing. I'm currently
painting up a Prussian SYW army (so this is well timed) and would be interested
in some closer shots of the units. Totally agree with your comments on the
figure quality - I put off painting these figures when I bought them years ago
(moved onto other things) but painting them up really makes you appreciate the
quality. I'm currently painting a Grenadier Battalion and, although the mitres
are quite demanding, the finished item looks the business.
Interesting to see how you've based your units. I've gone for 30 figures in
2 lines (principally because this matches the Pendraken pack size..) with
each Battalion on three separate bases. Your battalions look larger than
this and really give a good impression of long, thin lines.
Well done,
Phil

Those are beautiful! 8)
Spanky!
They in four bases of eight figures each, with two flags, and an officer? That must have been awkward pack ordering :D

Wow, that was quick (as the actress said to the Bishop).
Lovely figures, thank you (particularly like the little Fusilier caps !). Looks as though
they stepped straight out of this Knotel print :

The only problem is that, I am really enjoying painting up the
Prussians but I've got some new 10mm League of Augsburg
Dutch figures staring at me demanding colour.... Your web
site is not making this any easier !
Thanks for coming back so quickly.
Phil
Hi Phil'
glad you enjoyed the report. All of the credit really goes to Dave Fielder for a great scenario and the figures are his. So any questions re: basing for units etc only he can answer, but four bases to a Battalion does look good.
Always like a Horse & Musket game. :-bd
