So the way I work is that I very carefully research a force and then record my requirements against the Pendraken catalogue so I work out numbers and prices. What tends to happen is that I then put in an order or number of orders. So for the Russian 1941 I worked out I wanted a compnay of mechanised infantry ...
And forgot to order the 120mm mortar.
But I can't just order one pack can I?
So I ordered some KVIs as well.
When they arrived I realised that KVI's ain't no good without KV2s.
But I can't just order 3 KVII's can I?
So I remembered that I'd wanted some more landing craft, so I ordered some landing craft as well.
They arrived today ..
And I remembers that I hadn't ordered any Oerlikon guns.
But I can't just order 1 lot of Oerlikon guns, can I?
Sounds familiar :D.
I'm worse, I think.
Go online to look at two companies 6mm figures to track down figures suitable for conversion to troop type no-one actually makes.
Order some figures.
Decide I need some more ships to go with them.
Google appropriate ship/ wargames terms.
Find the ships I want and whole ranges of different scales and periods I now find myself interested in.
Buy rules for new naval period which use a hex grid for movement and firing.
Look for rug for bedroom, spot blue vinyl flooring with white 30mm hex-grid - buy a 2m x 1m chunk.
Get home and realise I didn't look at rugs let alone buy one.
Find supplier I'm mainly interested in doesn't "do" the 21st Century.
Look at same period in slightly smaller scale from another supplier.
Discover they do another period I'm now interested in too.
Order second set of rules.
Resolve to buy 1 - 4 starter packs at Carronade on Saturday.
Realise I never did get the ships for the initial buy.
GOTO 10 :)
I fail to see the problem. Those are only solutions.
To be honest I think we're all a bit like this when it comes to ordering nice new toys. I don't think I've ever, just placed one order without placing more.
Take care
Andy
Plan your buys in phases. Each filling in the gaps of the previous one. However, I guarantee that by Phase 3 what you buy will bear no resemblance to what you planned.... ~X( ~X( ~X(
