Title: Waterloo archeological dig
Post by: Westmarcher on 29 April 2015, 12:52:23 PM
Amazingly, the first official archaeological (yes, you can spell it that way too) dig on the Waterloo battlefield is currently taking place. So I heard from a TV report on the BBC this morning. For the benefit of our non-UK friends, here's a link to the BBC website (feel a bit like that Armand guy in TMP*).

Amicalement, Westie.

*Please, Leon. Don't let him join the forum. He posts some useful stuff but it just gets too much.

Saw a report on the lunchtime news on the Beeb. Looks like Hougemont is getting a restoration makeover and they are ferreting around near the gates. A bit like Time Team goes international.

Yes, I saw that on Breakfast. Tony Pollard, one of the two men in a trench, is in charge of things. Hopefully a full-scale programme will follow.
