Evening all
Here are a few shots from many that I took today of the ANZAC Day parade in Wellington both first thing the morning and later at lunchtime just before the parade moved off.
The parade started in Parliament grounds and went through the centre of Wellington to the new national war memorial. Over 100,000 people are estimated to have watched it - over 1/3 of the entire population of Wellington.
Being the 100th Anniversary of ANZAC day tomorrow there is a LOT of interest in NZ currently about WW1 - as Paul R's blogs on the Chanik Bair diorama etc has shown.
I ran into him while I was down at Parliament this morning - strange that :o ;)
The vehicles are mostly from Peter Jackson's own collection I believe - why have models "just like the real thing" as the old Airfix models ads declared when you can have the real thing :)
Anyway onto the pics....

Two Dennis London buses - had to smile at one other chalked remark "Spurs for the Cup" being a lifelong Spurs fan myself (Sorry Hertsblue).

Great to see these, thanks!
Thank you.
Thank you for these photos
In France we do not forget the sacrifice of the troops of the Commonwealth during both world wars. I take advantage of the ANZAC DAY to tell you that those who sleep in our country are watched by friendly hearts.
At the going down of the sun and in the morn we will remember them!
I'll be cracking the obligatory "tinnie" at the dawn as my usual respect for the fallen
Regards
Sean
Why is the parade not on the 25th?
Great pics, Pierre. And I really don't mind if you support Spurs - it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. :D

ANZAC Day itself is reserved for remeberance services
